Samuel Zagnit Wins Theodora Zavin Scholarship

The BMI Foundation proudly presented the 2014 Theodora Zavin Scholarship to Samuel Zagnit in a private ceremony at the BMI offices at 7 World Trade Center in New York City on September 8. Zagnit is a composer and bassist who begins studies at the Manhattan School of Music this week.

The Zavin Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior composition student at New York City’s LaGuardia High School, who plans to continue studies in music at the college level. It was founded in memory of the late Theodora Zavin by her two sons, Joshua and Jonathan. Ms. Zavin was a senior executive of the BMI legal department, and the Founding President of the BMI Foundation.
