SONY/ATV Nashville’s Troy Tomlinson Joins BMI Foundation Advisory Panel

The BMI Foundation (BMIF) has announced Troy Tomlinson, President and CEO of SONY/ATV Music Publishing - Nashville, as the newly appointed member of its Artistic Advisory Panel. Comprising musicians and industry leaders of international stature, the Panel provides ad hoc guidance as needed, as well as annual counsel for the BMIF New Music Grants Program, which supports music nonprofit organizations nationwide.

“Troy’s more than thirty years of experience in music publishing, as well as his longstanding commitment to music education, make him an outstanding addition to our Advisory Panel,” said BMI Foundation President Deirdre Chadwick. “We are fortunate to rely on his guidance and expertise in our mission to protect and cultivate music in schools across the country.”

Troy Tomlinson is the President and CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing - Nashville, overseeing a roster that includes legendary songwriter/performers such as Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Miranda Lambert, Cole Swindell and Blake Shelton, among others. He is also credited with administering renowned catalogs by Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Buck Owens, Hank Cochran, Roy Acuff, and the Everly Brothers. Tomlinson serves on the Tennessee Film Entertainment and Music Commission, as well as the boards of the Country Music Association, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Music City Music Council, and Belmont University’s Board of Trustees. He is the winner of an unprecedented fifteen consecutive BMI Country Publisher of the Year Awards.

The BMI Foundation is a nonprofit organization, incorporated in the state of New York in February 1984, and dedicated to the creation, performance and study of music, in fields including but not limited to music education, the preservation of the indigenous American jazz form, and the creation and exposure to audiences of contemporary music, particularly in the areas of classical, jazz, and musical theatre.
