peerLatin Scholarship Announced
The BMI Foundation has announced Chella Nahas, professionally known as Chella, as the winner of the 2020 peermusic Latin Scholarship competition. Chella is a Brazllian native and studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She was presented with the $5,000 award for her song “Sao Paulo.”

The BMI Foundation has announced Noga Cabo as the winner of the 2019 Theodora Zavin Scholarship, a music study prize named in honor of the Foundation’s late founding President, Theodora Zavin. The $2,000 award was presented at a private event held on July 9, 2019 at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI)’s New York City headquarters.
BMI Foundation Presents 2019 Musical Theatre Awards
The BMI Foundation has announced seven members of the Tony-honored BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop as the winners of its annual Musical Theatre Awards, encompassing the Jerry Harrington Awards For Outstanding Creative Achievement in Musical Theatre, the Jean Banks Award, and the Ellen Schwartz Award for Outstanding Literary Merit in Lyric Writing.
