Christian X. M. McGhee Awarded 2023 BMI Future Jazz Masters Award
Christian X. M. McGhee was awarded the 2023 BMI Future Jazz Master Award at the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) annual celebration of the Jazz Masters Fellows at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. McGhee was selected by a panel of NEA Jazz Masters for his talent and potential as a jazz performer and composer.
2022 Future Jazz Masters Award results in first-ever tie
The BMI Foundation has awarded a first-ever tie for the Seventh Annual BMI Future Jazz Master Award. Argentina native and New School alum Cler Diaz will share the prize with Michigan State University's Ben Turner.
2021 Future Jazz Master Announced
The BMI Foundation has awarded Caelan Cardello for the Sixth Annual BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship. The $5,000 prize was announced as part of BMI's celebration of the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Fellows at the April 22nd concert. Cardello is a pianist and composer at William Paterson University in New Jersey.
Alec Schulman is Fifth Annual Future Jazz Masters Winner
The BMI Foundation has awarded Alec Schulman the 2020 BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship. The $5,000 prize is typically awarded at BMI's celebration of the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Fellows, but with that event delayed, the winner was announced online by BMI Director of Musical Theater and Jazz Patrick Cook.
August Arnold Awarded Fourth Annual BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship
The BMI Foundation has selected August Arnold as the winner of this year’s BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship. The $5,000 award was presented to Arnold at Broadcast Music Inc’s annual dinner and celebration of the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Fellows in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, April 14th, 2019.
