BMI Foundation presented Nashville-based singer/songwriter Macy Dot Neal with the inaugural Dolly Parton Songwriters Award for her song “Texas, Tennessee” at the CMA Fest Ryman & BMI Block Party in Nashville on June 8th.

71st Annual BMI Composer Award Winners Announced
BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) and BMI Foundation, Inc celebrated the honorees of the 71st annual BMI Composer Awards at a private ceremony held on May 15th at Chelsea Table and Stage in New York City. BMI Foundation President and BMI Executive Director of Classical Deirdre Chadwick, renowned composer and Chair of the Composer Awards Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, and BMI Senior Vice President of Licensing David Levin presented the awards to six emerging composers for excellence in composition.
Ángela Fernández Awarded 2022 peermusic Latin Music Scholarship
Ángela Fernández was awarded the 2022 peermusic Latin Music Scholarship at BMI’s 30th annual Latin Awards in Beverly Hill, CA. Hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI Vice President, Creative, Latin, Jesus Gonzalez, the evening celebrated the top songwriters and publishers of Latin music.

Each year these awards recognize superior musical compositional ability with educational scholarships totaling $20,000.
2021 Future Jazz Master Announced
The BMI Foundation has awarded Caelan Cardello for the Sixth Annual BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship. The $5,000 prize was announced as part of BMI's celebration of the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Fellows at the April 22nd concert. Cardello is a pianist and composer at William Paterson University in New Jersey.
