Ralph N. Jackson, President of the BMI Foundation, Inc., has announced that Patrick Monte is the recipient of the 2nd Annual Theodora Zavin Memorial Scholarship.
BMI Student Composer Award Winners Announced
Ten young classical composers ranging in age from 17 to 26, have been named winners in the 54th Annual BMI Student Composer Awards. BMI President and CEO Del R. Bryant announced the decisions of the jury and presented the awards at a reception held May 22 at the Jumeirah Essex House Hotel in New York City.

The BMI Foundation has announced the opening of the 9th Annual John Lennon Scholarship competition for young songwriters. Established by Yoko Ono in 1997, the John Lennon Scholarships are made possible through generous donations from Ono with matching funds from Gibson Musical Instruments.
BMI Foundation Announces Opening of peermusic Latin Scholarship Competition
The BMI Foundation, Inc. has announced the opening of the 3rd Annual peermusic Latin Scholarship, a competition for young songwriters and composers. Established by music publisher Ralph Peer II and generously funded by peermusic, a $5,000 scholarship will be awarded for the best song or instrumental composition in a Latin genre.
Lennon Scholarship Winner Stops By BMI NY
Singer/songwriter Sydney Price, first place winner of the John Lennon Scholarships, stopped by the BMI New York office to perform some of her new songs for BMI executives. The 17-year-old high school student from Dallas, Texas, who was presented with a check for $10,000 during the BMI Pop Awards ceremony held in May, also treated staff to a performance of her winning song “Moon Lullaby.”
6th Annual Harrington Awards Honor Musical Theatre Writers
The BMI Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce the winners of the 6th Annual Jerry Harrington Musical Theatre Awards in recognition of outstanding creative achievement in the Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.
